 Is it enough to just work on my abs or should I work the whole body?

  It’s best to work your whole body. Working the bigger muscles will also help you burn more calories and help you lose fat and make your abs more visible. It’s important to also train your lower back too reduce the risk of injuries.


 Should I do lots of sit ups every day?

  No:
  • sit ups are no longer the recommended exercise for toning your abs.
  • Doing a lot of repetitions of an exercise will increase the risk for injuries.

 What is the best exercise for strengthening my abs?

  Our favorite exercise is the Bicycle maneuver. It will work both your rectus abdominis (front) and the obliques (sides).

 I want to get rid of my love handles, what exercises do I do?

  Love handles are fat on the side of the waist. The only way to reduce fat is by taking in fewer calories that your body uses. You can’t force the body to lose fat in just one place. Spot training doesn’t help you lose the fat in that area.


 What is the best exercise equipment for abs?

  Most of the abs exercise equipments are not any better then a regular curl-up and some are even worse. The reason is that some gadgets support part of your weight and therefore work the muscles less. Examples of equipment that work well are the captain’s chair and a Swiss exercise ball. But in the end the best one, is the one you’ll actually use and not leave lying around in a closet.


 Are curl-ups the best way to lose fat around the waist?

  Curl-ups will exercise your abdominal muscles and make them stronger. It will not help you lose weight in a specific area. Any lost weight will come from all over your body.


 Should I work out the abdomen every day for best results?

  There are two theories to this question. Some say you can work them out every day and others say that you should take a break just like with other muscles. The truth is that you use these muscles every day while walking, breathing or just holding your abdominal organs in place. There is no need to include them everyday in your exercise routine, since there are other things that are more important if you want to achieve a six pack. So treat them like any other muscles and give them a break.



 What muscles make up the abdominal?

  There are five muscles:
  • External obliques
  • Internal obliques
  • Transverse abdominis
  • Rectus abdominis
  • Pyramidalis

 Will building up my abdominal muscles improve my posture?

  Yes, strengthen your core/abdominals will enable you to improve your posture. Don’t forget to also work your lower back.


 Why do you keep mentioning loosing weight and diets?

  Working your abs is a start, but if you don’t lose the fat then you’ll never be able to see the muscles you’ve been working on. Most people won’t see much of the ab muscles if they have over 10% body fat.
